The Discipline

Every profession begins as a set of ideas that someone takes the trouble to define precisely. This category holds the defining essays of Relationship Readiness coaching: what the discipline is, where its boundaries lie, and what it means to practise a craft whose central rule is that the coach reflects and the couple decides. Definition

Relationship Readiness Coaching

Relationship Readiness coaching is the structured, forward-looking professional practice of guiding committed couples through the design of their shared life — family, money, roles, daily rhythm, and the way two people find their way back to each other after difficulty — through a reflective method in which the coach reflects and the couple decides. It is distinct from therapy (clinical, backward-looking), counselling (directive, problem-solving), matchmaking, and any assessment of whether two people match: no verdict on a couple is ever issued, and authority never leaves the couple.
